You always sound hella cheeky at the start for some reason lol. Great video, you’ve put out a lot of good videos lately.

mike, great stuff as always. thus far its also very reassuring that since doing my own programming i’ve already been implanting all of these principles. i was wondering what your take is on some of these more “objective” (i use that term lightly) methods of measuring training fatigue/overtraining such as broad jump test, grip strength, bar speed on warm ups (ie. with Tendo unit), or more physiologic variables such as morning HR, body temp variations, or even HRV? and then using this information to determine how to auto regulate training on the bigger scale such as determining when to deload
WValleser says
Mike, thanks as always! Your channel should be seen by more people. You said that not deloading leads to poor performance in the gym and poor technique under heavy loads. Sometimes, that happens to me on one day but I come back to the gym two days later and everything is ok – I can train high intensity again. Thus, do you need to observe these (poor performance and technique under heavy loads) just once or does this have to occur on consecutive workouts before you decide it might be time to deload?

Awesome talk !

I have a question, say one runs relatively low volume consistently, could you not deload even less frequently?

Great series. I’m definitely guilty of taking deloads way to infrequently, even when I know I feel run down in the gym. Thanks for these videos!

Really great video! But I gotta be honest, at 4:24 you sound like a hilariously petulant child. Other than that, I enjoyed this video thoroughly.
