Power up your lifts, love the life

Key Resources

For many powerlifters, the sport that they dedicate their lives to is perfect for their lifestyle. Many powerlifters are those who don’t necessarily enjoy team sports, or those who simply want to rely on their own hard work and effort when looking for end results. That being said, everyone can use a bit of help, which is especially the case with powerlifters.

If you are thinking of starting a career in powerlifting, whether it’s for fun or competitive purposes, then you’ll need to know where you can look whenever you have a question. The great news is that the powerlifting community is a big one, and you’ll never be too far from getting the help that you need. And since you’ve come here first, here is a look into powerlifting key resources that you should know.

Federations and Organizations

If you love powerlifting, the day will likely come that you want to compete against other athletes. This is a great chance to see what other athletes have, but it’s also a chance to push yourself to your own limits as well.

Depending on where you live, there are different powerlifting federations that you may be able to join. The United States is a hotbed for powerlifting federations and competitions, though the sport is growing throughout the rest of the world as well.

Global Powerlifting Alliance

The Global Powerlifting Alliance (GPA) is one of, if not the most, popular powerlifting organization in the world. The GPA organizes, schedules, and puts on global events that include some of the best powerlifters in the world. The GPA is also a common place for many athletes who are training for the Olympics, as well as other organized powerlifting events.

RAW Powerlifting

100% RAW Powerlifting (RAW) is another common network of powerlifters, though a bit different depending on where you look. RAW has a big presence in America and also in Canada, though the two are often independent. RAW will put on different powerlifting promotions in different regions, so be sure to find the one that works best for you.

Global Powerlifting Committee

The Global Powerlifting Committee (GPC) is with the GPA as one of the most popular powerlifting federations out there. The GPC organizes many global events that bring together some of the best powerlifters on the planet. The GPC also puts together regional events that are ideal for those just getting into the sport.

Everywhere you look, there are additional groups and promotions that are being created as a way to meet the demand in popular for powerlifting. Gym Warriors and Hardcore Powerlifting are two organizations that can be found locally throughout North America .These two organizations also put on their own lifting competitions, which are ideal for those that are looking to get into their first powerlifting meet.

High School Federations

There are also a large number of High School Federations that are also growing for powerlifting as well. Although not many schools have formal powerlifting teams, there are plenty of options for athletes that are in this age demographic. For those that fall in love with powerlifting at an early age and want to compete against other youngsters, there is certainly that option.

Regional Powerlifting Federations

Along with all of these organizations, it’s also important to look into more regional powerlifting events as well. No matter where you are in the world, you’ll be able to find a powerlifting federation that allows you to compete. From there, you can then work your way up to more recognizable competitions – assuming you are good enough, of course.

In order to run, you’ll have to take that first step. And in the case of competitive powerlifting, you’ll need to lift that first weight in your first competition. If you are looking for something that you can get involved in, check out the options listed here. There are also plenty of other options throughout the world, so don’t give up until you find one that is perfect for you.

Finally, keep in mind that powerlifting is also a budding sport. So while you may not find an option that is best for you now, it’s likely only a matter of time before you will. In the mean time, be sure to practicing your form, maximizing your lifts, and busting your butt every time you work out.
