Mobility For Better Squatting – Bryce Lewis

November 6, 2016 by warrioradmin 14 Comments

I asked Bryce Lewis to do a mobility video for my channel. I’ve used a lot of his videos to help with my own mobility issues and thought this would be a great way to get him some much needed exposure.

Bryce’s channel:

The Strength Athlete:

Bryce Lewis is a competitive, drug-free, elite powerlifter in the 181 and 198 pounds weight classes. He holds records in both the United States of America Powerlifting League (USAPL) and American Powerlifting Association (APA), and strives to promote the comprehension and love of powerlifting training throughout the world.

How detrimental is being flat footed to your squat? I find my knees flail
out a bit and I want to correct my form. I always go to depth(ATG) but I
want to make sure i’m pushing of my heels and don’t want too much
separation in my feet as if i’m sumo squatting. Any recommendations for the
flat footed folk? Or does this video apply to us as well?

When I squat low, something behind and lateral to my knee pops. This is
only on my left leg. I feel no pain but its uncomfortable. Could it be my
LCL or something? Should I foam roll and stretch it more often?

it’s hard for me to do a low bar squat. I don’t have the flexability to put
    my hands that far back.

The background music is annoying because the music makes it harder to
concentrate on what Bryce Lewis is saying.
