I credit Ripβs videos on the Art of Manliness videos for sparking my interest in strength training a few years ago. Powerlifting for fun has been hobby ever since.
Wow, your OHP is crazy stong!!
I always wondered, is it necessary to bring the barbell all the way down to your chest when doing OHP? My forearms are pretty long, compared to my bicep part of the arm, almost 1/3rd longer, and I found that lowering all the way down to my chest makes my elbows cave in. I tweaked my right shoulder joint once when doing it. With forearms striclty perpendicular to the bar – my OHP starts around my chin level. Anything lower messes up my form.
Is that normal?
Hey Jordan, I am 6 foot 2 and I weight 212. My lifts are 375/255/425 (no pause bench) and I’ve been lifting for 2 and a half years. Considering I have a 38″ waist and the other info above,do you think I should continue to gain some weight?I know you’re not working with much here, but what do you think?
thanks
Gotta say, after watching squat after squat at raw nationals, I can barely think of one lifter who was looking down and not straight ahead. It this just the accepted form among top lifters?
Crazy how you don’t do bodybuilding type training (only strength/powerlifting type of training), but yet you’re so jacked… Teach me your ways, Dr. Feigenbro.
Why u no wod tho
Hope your knees are feeling Nuanced on the way up to the meet doc
You look like a young buff Terry Richardson lol

Doctor Feigenbaum, you and Austin help to satisfy my thirst for scientific knowledge + training advancement information. Thank you.
I finally hit 135lbs for 3×5 yesterday on OHP. Felt great. Your OHP always inspires me to work harder. Thanks man!
Great Video! I always appreciate when you take the time to talk to us. Wishing you further success in lifting heavy. π

What personal cue are you using prior to initiating your squat? Looks flexed at the hip and setting your lumbar spine.

Nice job doc
Hey how tall are you, Mr. Feigenbaum, if I may ask?
The chick at 11:30 is impressed and slightly concerned.
The concerned yet impressed facial expressions at @11:29 cracked me up. Nice work Jordan!
