You say to do abs at the end of your giant sets, but how many reps?

Question about the pushy-outies. When wearing a belt pushing out and bracing is the correct motor pattern to utilize but, without a belt, pushing out essentially neglects the function of the transverse abdominis as it relates to compressing the abdomen. What are your thoughts on this / how it relates to the exercise?

Hi Brian thanks for the video

i have a question : do you recommend on doing some planks or ab wheel exercise at same day you’ll do squat or deadlift ?

I’m asking that because when i’m doing heavy squat or deadlift, after that i’m running on a treadmill and usually “feel” my abs soring and “burning”.

The best, most useful channel I have ever viewed. I’m about to turn 44 and I am retiring from the navy this year. After 20+ years of dieting and maintaining my weight below 200 lbs at 6′ tall, I’m embarking on a journey. I want to start powerlifting/strongman. I want to put in the time, food and training to get big, massive and strong. This channel is the first place I go to for learning the best practices. I know none of this will happen overnight but I’m driven and patient. Thanks Brian for the motivation you provide me.

My favorite “core” exercise are heavy squats-beltless. Seriously I have had to cut my squat session short because of how sore my abs were. That said I do like doing some russian twists or some oblique crunches, and leg raises, but these are all done at the end of a workout NOT as the main exercises. Great suggestions in this video Brian.
